INNOVA Group attended the Raleigh Chamber Executive Women’s Luncheon this past week. The title of the seminar was “Make Your Move”. These are some of the bullet points from the four presenting women: Patrice Gilmore, Becky Jacobs, Janine Jones, and Lisa Jones.
Is something holding you back in your professional or personal life? Four powerful successful women shared how they put fear aside, stop making excuses, and made their move to doing something they are passionate about.
These four women are thankful for making the move because they are happier and feel a sense of fulfillment. They share their stories and how they were able to make their move. They were from different industries such as construction, wellness, patient safety, and performing arts.
Many of us contemplate if we are making the right choice when we begin to think about making a move in our personal or professional life. Here are some of the nuggets from their stories:
- Intentional thinking – Take time to think about what is going to make you happy
- Make goals for yourself – Always write your goals
- Pick small things you can be successful at and make a change
- If you are currently working, seek internal job opportunities
- Volunteer for areas that are not part of your job description. This enhances your visibility, leverages your strengths, adds value and shows you are a team player.
- Create your own brand – let people get to know the authentic YOU!
- If you find yourself unable to make your move, ask yourself, what would you do if you were not afraid?
